Our current board, elected by the members of Norden Farm at the 2023 AGM are:
Sean Egan - Chair
Sean, a Maidenhead resident, is a chartered accountant, a registered tax adviser and an independent financial adviser. He is Senior Partner of Craufurd Hale LLP, Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisers. Amongst other positions, Sean was President of Maidenhead Rotary Club in 2019/20, was Trustee/Treasurer of Maidenhead and Windsor Citizens Advice Bureau from 2012 to 2018 and was Treasurer of Maidenhead Rugby Club from 2002 to 2010. His interests include the Arts, watching sport and participating in endurance events.
Sean was appointed as a Trustee in July 2022. He was appointed as Chairman of the Trustees in November 2023.
John Seymour - Chair of Finance Committee
John has lived in Maidenhead since marriage in 1963. After a degree in History, he did National Service in the RAF, training as a Russian interpreter. He started as a tax inspector in the Inland Revenue, then worked for 15 years in IT. For 15 years he ran various industrial businesses, and then spent 15 years in international marketing and business development, including setting up joint ventures in China and Russia.
Since retirement he has been active in various voluntary roles, including school governor, churchwarden, the CAB, and the Bray Society.
Clifford Perkins - Honorary Treasurer
Clifford has a professional background in Finance, working for major companies and consultancies predominantly in taxation. He has a wide range of interests including rugby, football (QPR) and cricket, as well as dogs, travelling and garden design. He brings special expertise in risk management and financial planning. For eight years he was Finance Director for Marlow Rugby Club.
Iain Donaldson
Iain has lived in Maidenhead for 35 years and has been involved with Norden Farm since opening. He organised sponsorship for the Courtyard Theatre for the first three years. His career has been in the Telecommunications and IT industry in the Thames Valley and he has held senior positions in a number of companies including Nortel, Vodafone and Cisco Systems as well as working as a Chief Engineer in a number of startups. He has co-founded a talking therapy market-place which connects people to psychotherapists and works as an independent technology consultant for startup companies. At present he is working with companies mostly in the healthcare sector (eating disorders and mental health provision).
He has created and maintained the Norden Farm website since opening and provides regular IT support to the technical team.
Martin Kaye
Martin, a Maidenhead resident, has 40 years’ experience as a chartered accountant. He was previously a senior tax partner in accountants and business advisors BDO LLP where his management roles included being Head of Risk Management and having Profit & Loss Account responsibility for two large business units of the firm. Martin has also previously been Chairman of a Pension Trust Company and Chairman of an international charity that promotes economic empowerment for women in countries where they lack equal opportunities. He has an MA in Art History from The Open University.
He was Chair of the Trustees from July 2015 to November 2023.
Nina Maan
Nina’s working career, until retirement in Dec 2016, was a Senior position in the local government field and prior to this in the Dental field working with young people on a sessional basis. Nina has also worked with Memorial Gates Trust/Council, which was organised to celebrate the contribution made in The Two World Wars by the people of The Indian Sub-Continent, Africa and The Caribbean, has been a Lay Member of The Lord Chancellor's Advisory Sub Committee on the Justice of Peace for East Berkshire Advisory Sub Committee, was Vice Chair /Governor of East Berkshire College of Further Education, and has been a Voluntary Assessor for The Princes Trust: Thames Valley area.
Nina's work has given her considerable knowledge of systems in diverse communities and cultures.
Before becoming a trustee, Nina had good knowledge of Norden Farm as she was involved in various events, primarily, to assist in raising the Centre's profile within the community, eg fundraising from charities.
Devika Shangari
Devika is a practising solicitor and a partner in a law firm in Hounslow, Middlesex. This firm specialises in Family and Private Client work. Previously, she was a Child Protection Lawyer at Buckinghamshire County Council. Devika gained her law degree at Brunel University.
Devika is also a Kathak (North-Indian Classical Dance Style) teacher and performer, and has taught in Slough and Maidenhead, including at Norden Farm.
Nick Winton
Nick was born and brought up in Maidenhead initially in the Altwood area then in Pinkneys Green where his father, Sir Nicholas Winton, built the family home. During his 40 year career he built up a successful company before selling it and returning to study at Imperial College London for a MBA. Subsequently he ran various organisations as Interim CEO, has also been sought after as a business “trouble-shooter” and continues to advise Boards of Directors covering a variety of sectors in both the private and not-for-profit arena. He has a passion for guiding organisations so they perform more effectively and with less stress.
Following in his father’s footsteps he has a commitment to making a difference in the community.
