The Last Musician of Auschwitz tells the extraordinary story of cellist Anita Lasker-Wallfisch who played and created music amidst the terrors of the Holocaust.

Now 99 year’s old, Lasker-Wallfisch, the only living survivor to have played in one of the Auschwitz orchestras, reflects on her experience in an intimate and moving interview that frames the documentary.

The film also highlights the stories of three other musicians from across Europe - whose powerful performances explore themes of loss, longing and cultural memory, while addressing head on the barbaric realities of the Nazi regime at its most notorious death camp.

The film reflects on the power of music amidst War, a note of defiance and hope in the face of pain and degradation.
